Eyedrops Recall

You may have heard some scary new lately about an eyedrop causing serious injury and in some cases death. Click on the links for additional information and for pictures of the drops. Take a minute to look through your cabinet and keep yourself and your loved ones safe:

Pharmedica USA LLC’s Purely Soothing 15% MSM Drops

    • Recalled March 3 over “non-sterility” concerns, and could cause eye infections. Pharmedica USA said it has not received any complaints about the eye drops yet, and is conducting the recall voluntarily

Apotex Corp.’s Brimonidine Tartrate Ophthalmic Solution, 0.15%

    • Recalled March 1 over bottle cap issues that compromised sterility in six lots of the eye drops. Apotex’s recall notice didn’t specify if there were any injuries associated with the product and is conducting the recall voluntarily.

Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears

    • Recalled Feb. 2 due to possible bacteria contamination. Along with EzriCare’s Artificial Tears, use of this product could lead to eye infections, permanent loss of vision and death over a bloodstream infection. The product is being recalled voluntarily.
