Another FDA Warning
After a deluge of eyedrop recalls from the FDA during 2023, they’re back at it in 2024. This time the warning is of a string of copy cat drops mimicking Lumify. Lumify is a great drop for redness relief. If your eyes are a little bloodshot or you just want to brighten them up for family photos, Lumify is your best option. Drops like Visine or Clear Eyes permanently damage blood vessels causing them to be more pronounced (aka more red) after using the drops. Sneaky, huh?
The problem the FDA is warning us about is that copycat drops like South Moon, Rebright and FivFivGo eye drops, which are easily mistaken for Lumify because of their similar packaging pose a significant risk of infection. The copycat drops are currently not for sale in the United States, but be sure to check the package carefully before buying your eyedrops.
